This weekend I’ve been hard at work in the studio, gearing up for the Craft Boston Spring show. Even though it’s two whole months from now, given everything that still needs to happen, I’m starting to panic a little bit. So many new things to try, and hardly any time to try it!
This tray has a pattern on it that I designed myself and had laser cut at Danger Awesome in Cambridge. This form has a series of repeating spirals that really looks great on clay! I can’t wait to see how it looks once it’s glazed – and I’m already brainstorming what other textures I can apply! Both on slab pieces like this tray, but also on thrown pieces. The way the pattern changes as a pot is thrown can be surprising and beautiful.
